When?

Open all year round

Bud Camping is open all year round, and the boats are ready in the harbor in summer and winter. The campsite has over 15 rental boats, 30 cabins of different standards and approx. 90 pitches for caravans. Accommodation is booked on the campsite’s website. Since Bud is located at the far end of the sea gap, there is rarely much snow in winter, which means that the conditions are favorable for nice fishing trips in clear winter weather.

In the summer there is a bustling life on the lake here. Flat sea that gives opportunities to go out to Klakken, Buagrunnen and Karl with the hammer, holidaymakers on Bjørnsund with summer-open cafe, open restaurant and pub on Ona and many idyllic islets suitable for barbecuing, swimming and free-diving for scallops.

Where?

40 minutes from Molde

Bud is 40 minutes from Molde and 30 minutes from Atlanterhavsveien. The location makes the place easily accessible with the nearest airport in Molde, and along the very popular tourist road which has also been named the building of the century with close to 1 million passes annually.

The Fisherman’s Village Bud is situated at the far end of a point with Hustadvika as its nearest neighbour. With our marina as a starting point, you can go out into the open sea and fish on the peaks, or if the weather is rough you can go into the fjords and fish in the lee. It was in these areas that one of our guests caught a ling on the hook in autumn 2022, the ling was 36 kilos and 190 cm long!

To do

Explore sea and land

We offer boat rental at the campsite, but also have larger boats with guides. Our captains are certified coastal skippers with courses in passenger and crisis management. The boats can take 12 guests each and must be booked on our website or by contacting the campsite.

The shuttle boat «Øystein» is a 38-foot Mørejet with a large, open deck aft with plenty of space for fishing. The boat has a flybridge, large salon inside, heater and toilet. «Øystein» is also a good shuttle boat, and has transported guests and luggage in larger and smaller groups out to Bjørnsund. Trips to Ona for dinner, exploring the island on foot and the venerable lighthouse are also a great experience.

Our newest addition to the marina is the StealthCat «Siri», which will be put into use until the 2023 season. It is a 40-foot open aluminum boat with two coolers, large deck space and is a badass in the water. The speed monster is built for extreme fishing, and there are only three of them in Norway. We have bought one and the other two have been acquired by the Norwegian Armed Forces. A guided trip with «Siri» can take fishermen out to Buagrunnen, the various Klakks and all the way to the Eggakanten, which is the slope from the continental shelf that leads down to the deeper parts of the Norwegian Sea – weather permitting of course.

Varied nature on land and water

The Fisherman’s Village Bud and the surrounding areas have a lot of varied nature on land and in water to offer our visitors. Norwegian and foreign tourists come here mainly in the season from April to September. We have guests from inland and Eastern Norway who come to rent a cabin and boat, and freeze the fish to fill the freezer for the winter.

Tourists come from cities in Europe who want to experience the sea, feel the forces of nature and find peace in the fresh sea air. Then there will also be targeted sea fishing clubs, species anglers and those with an above-average interest in sea fishing to test out the areas and the fishing we have to offer here. And the nice thing is that if someone in the traveling party is not as keen on fishing, we have great hiking trails in Bud, Gulberget 160 m above sea level, many tours in the local area, and the cities of Molde and Kristiansund are a short car ride away.

For the little ones, it’s an Eldorado in the pebbles on our beach, or the thrill of lying on your stomach in the marina fishing for crabs and small fish.
